In her video work ANSWERS, Volkman conducts a series of interviews with soldiers during a normal workday on a NATO base to explore abstract questions related to their everyday tasks. In STILL FILMS, Volkman puts a new spin Cindy Sherman's 'Film Stills' by replacing photography with high-speed video, prolonging the moment when the viewer meets the subject's gaze, and disrupting the power hierarchies of looking through the lens.
